24 Quick Starter Steps
for Church Presentations by Rene'
Announcement
Presentations
  1. Choose a graphics theme for the day's presentations.
  2. Begin the announcement presentation with the Welcome image. Add a text box with your church name and other information.
  3. Choose a color for the text that contrasts with the background image. Shadow the text if necessary for readability.
  4. Select other pre-
formatted graphics for your presentation such as nursery, cell phone reminder or tape ministry graphics.
  5. Customize the slides as needed with your own text.
  6. Use the notepad or cross graphic for special announcements like committee meetings or baptism service.
  7. If desired, use animation for text and/or various slide transitions to capture the audiences' attention.
  8. Include the Scripture Snapshot image to begin to prepare the audience for worship.
  9. Set the announcement presentation to loop to show before or between worship services.
  10. Save the file. You're ready to go!
Worship Songs
Presentations
  1. For continuity, use the same theme as the announcement presentation.
  2. Select and use one  background image throughout the worship presentation. If you feel you need different backgrounds stay within the theme.
(Note: Changing background images with each song often distracts from the worship experience as the audience is watching the background images change rather than focusing on the message)
  3. Make sure you format the slide with the image as the background rather than an independent graphic. This prevents the image from shifting as you add and adjust the song text.
  4. Use a very readable font (sans-serif) for the song text - such as Arial. Serif fonts tend to lose their edges when projected - reducing readability.
  5. Be sure to leave plenty of "white space" around words. Split over- crowded slides into two slides.
  6. Save the file - That was quick!
Sermon
Presentations
  1. For continuity, use the same theme as the announcement and worship presentations.
  2. Select a background image for the title slide of the sermon.
  3. You may choose a different coordinating background for the rest of the sermon notes if you wish.
  4. Add the sermon title and text making sure it is readable. (good font choice and color)
  5. Don't overwhelm the audience with a HUGE font size... or give them eye-strain with tiny text.
  6. Use text animation with restraint. To keep your audience on track you may use a subtle, consistent animation to bring in the points of the outline. But never make the animation showy for sermon presentations.
  7. Keep the same thing in mind in using slide transitions. Don't distract from the message. Keep the transitions very simple.
  8. Save your file. Now, wasn't that easy?
